“In order to conquer, what we need is to dare, still to dare, and always to dare.”
-Georges Danton
My name is Georges Danton. I was born in Arcis-sur-Aube on October 26, 1759. I was a leader during the French Revolution. I was a very strong supporter of The Revolution. I attended the University of Reims and earned a degree in law from there. I was employed in the office of public prosecutor. Then in 1787 I purchased the office of advocate to the King's Council. I am known to give very great, and motivational speeches. I am a pragmatist who believes that the Revolution could only succeed if it limited its program to the possible, which meant upholding the rights of property, ending the war as quickly as possible by negotiation, and restoring order through a strong central government. I often tend to be lazy witch makes people not want to rely on me. I helped turn the government of France from a monarchy into a republic. I also was partly responsible for the Reign of Terror. I was a lawyer and a leader of the Cordeliers Club. The Cordeliers Club helped get Cois out of the throne. After we did this I was France's most powerful National Leader. In 1792 I was elected to France's new legislature, The National Convention. Then i became a leader of the radical political group known as the Montain. I was also named minister of justice and became the predominant member of the executive committee. Then i rallied the the nation against the Prussians. On April 6, 1793 I was elected to the newly establsihed Committee of Public Safety and to the Revolutionary Tribunal. I thought differently and this caused me not to be reelected. After this the leadership of the Revolution passed to Robespierre. Robespierre turned agains me. This led to me being executed on April 5, 1794. I was executed at the guilotine, wich i had said i would die beneath.
